Kinemetrics Environmental Monitoring Platform

USArray / Transportable Array

The USArray component of the EarthScope experiment is a continental-scale seismic observatory designed to provide a foundation for integrated studies of continental lithosphere and deep Earth structure over a wide range of scales. The Kinemetrics Aspen platform implemented in the USArray / TA project delivered a 99.7% data return over ~1,800 installations over ten years of operation.

National Strong Motion Network – Italy

The Italian Department of Civil Protection (DPC) is a structure of the Italian’s President of Council and is located in Rome. It is charged with directing the country’s response to natural disasters and catastrophes. The Italian strong motion network (RAN) includes 528 stations and the recorded data is used for seismology and structural engineering studies. Since October 2012, Kinemetrics has operated and maintained the RAN, delivering over 98% data return. Kinemetrics’ Aspen System acquires and processes data from more than 500 stations in a virtualized environment running on two enterprise-class servers with shared storage.

Oman National Seismic Network

The Oman National Seismic Network is managed and operated by the Earthquake Monitoring Center (EMC) of Sultan Qaboos University. EMC was established in 2001 to record local, regional, and global earthquakes, and receives real-time data streams from remote seismic stations for further seismic data processing, alerting, and archiving.
It is one of the largest seismic monitoring networks in Middle East, and has been operating the Kinemetrics Aspen Platform with high performance and extraordinary reliability for the last 20 years!

National Seismic Network of South Korea

The National Seismic Network of South Korea is managed and operated by the National Earthquake and Volcano Center of Korea Meteorological Agency (KMA). Kinemetrics delivered the open-architecture Aspen seismic monitoring and information platform that includes 266 remote seismic stations and the Data Center located in Seoul.

KMA’s seismic data is used to characterize the earthquakes and volcanoes in and around the Korean Peninsula, and to alert businesses and population in case of significant earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis.
